First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: As New. First Edition; First Printing. A collection of short stories. A fine book with some foxing to the top text block, only thing keeping it from being mint. Book is otherwise in as new condition, tight binding, clearly never been read, signed and dated on the title page by the author as both Miss Read and Dora Saint, dated 2 Sept 1994 in the year of publication. Scarce to find signed copies, at the time of posting no other signed copies available on the market. A mint as new dust jacket, unclipped and without any faults at all. Now in a protective acetate cover. Quite possibly the best copy on the market (or anywhere) and signed! Miss Read (or Dora Jessie Saint) was an English novelist and a schoolmistress by profession. Best known for her Fairacre and Thursh Green novels set in the British countryside. In 1998 she was made a Member of the British Empire (MBE) for her services to literature. Our collection of Miss Read books come from a single collector, all of them signed. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 166 pages; Signed by Author.
