Contains the following third issue points: title page is conjugate and not a cancel; copyright notice listed as 1884; the final "5" on page 155 is slightly larger than the first and extends below the type line; and a redone engraving on page 283 with the fly on Silas in a straight vertical line. The Twain bust frontispiece is in the third state, with the Photo-Gravure Company imprint and "Karl Gerhardt, Sc." on the shoulder. (BAL 3415) (McBride 92) An attractive copy.

Contains the following first issue points, including a publication date of 1885 on title page, with 1884 on copyright page, "Huck Decided to Leave" on page 9, illustration "Him and another Man" incorrectly listed as page "88" on page 13, misprint "was" for "saw" on page 57, on page 155 the last "5" in page number is dropped, the "l" is missing from "Col." on page 143, no signature "11" on page 161 and page 283 being a cancel.
