Paper. Condition: Good. First Edition. An Original Six Sided Hand Written and Signed Letter from Robert Monsey Rolfe, 1st Baron Cranworth to Foreign Secretary Lord Clarendon. Dated 1856. By the date of the letter the King was already dead but his son King George V of Hanover clearly still maintained the claim which was subsequently upheld by a commission appointed in 1857 possibly as a result of this very letter. A full translation of the letter is typed and photographed. Robert Monsey Rolfe, 1st Baron Cranworth, 1790-1868 was a British lawyer and Liberal politician.
