  • Seller image for Cooking Out of This World / And written by an assortment of science fiction writers recording their favorite recipes for posterity without any regard for the immediate consequences whatsoever (SIGNED) for sale by Cat's Curiosities

Soft cover. Condition: Fine. No Jacket. Cover art by Jacques Wyrs (illustrator). 1st Edition. NOT the 1992 "Wildside Press" reprint, but here the AUTHENTIC Ballantine Books mass-market paperback stated "First Printing: August, 1973," in fine unread condition (albeit the pages, though still flexible, are now slightly but evenly age-toned), and SIGNED by editorAnne McCaffrey (name only) in ink to the title page. Copyright page lists the 12-digit SBN 324-23413-8-150, which the ABE computer will not accept as an authentic ISBN until we delete the final "150" (that being simply the original price) and then add a preliminary numeral "0," not actually found in book. More than one hundred and fifty recipes by 58 top authors, mostly of science fiction & fantasy novels and stories, including Brian Aldiss, Poul & Karen Anderson, Anthony Boucher, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Gordon R. Dickson, Harlan Ellison, Frank Herbert (beef in oyster sauce, Peking goose, Sukiyaki); Ursula Le Guin, Fritz Leiber, Murray Leinster (clams casino); Judy Merril, Walter M. Miller, Jr. (a presumably purposely fairly hideous recipe for turtle stew), and Michael Moorcock, etc., plus spouses. 213 pp. including index. Signed by Author(s).
