An Alaskans Selected Reminiscences

From the Back Cover:
What do you remember about being a child: rain in your socks, soggy handkerchiefs, the furniture in your room, riding your own horse?

What do you remember about being a teenager: your first dance, algebra, something about a war?

What do you remember about being a member of the labor force: your first check, your first car, your first mortgage?

What do you remember about being married: your spouse, your children, your home?

What do you remember about being middle-aged?

This is a love story with a happy ending!

About the Author:
Dagmar Nye was born four months before the 1929 Stock Market crash and carried from Juneau, Alaska to San Francisco, California at age three. She attended one orphanage and eight elementary schools before the fourth grade. Then, she attended two high schools and two colleges before graduating cum laude at age forty. Meanwhile, Dagmar shared dinners with a disabled Spanish American War veteran and a stepfather wounded in World War I. A cousin was bombed in World War II. Dagmar got kicked out of the WAVES days before the Korean War and English 101 during the Vietnam War. Most of the last twenty years she rode a bicycle to work in summer and a bus in winter. Only once has she been followed by a moose for more than a couple of blocks.
