Praise for Dave Zeltserman:

"If there's any other young writer out there who does crime noir better than Zeltserman, I don't even want to know."—Maureen Corrigan, The Washington Post

"Zeltserman's breakthrough crime novel deserves comparison with the best of James Ellroy."—Publishers Weekly, starred review

"Pariah is all I know of bliss and lament. Bliss at reading a superb novel and lament at knowing that Dave Zeltserman has now raised the bar so high, we're screwed."—Ken Bruen

Following from his ultra-noir trilogy—Small Crimes, Pariah, and Killer—is Outsourced, Dave Zeltserman's most commercial book to date.

A classic heist thriller pitched somewhere between Ocean's Eleven and Dog Day Afternoon, it's the story of a group of software engineers who lose their jobs due to an industry push to outsourcing. Desperate, and seeing their middle-class lives crumbling apart, they come up with a brilliant plan to use their computing skills to rob a bank. But not even a systems analyst can foresee every eventuality, so the group falls afoul of the Russian Mafia . . .

Movie rights have been sold for Outsourced, and the film will be produced by the team behind the hugely successful Resident Evil films.

Dave Zeltserman has, over the years, worked developing data communication software at some of the world's leading networking and computer companies. He lives in the Boston area with his wife Judy. His previous novels include Small Crimes (voted one of NPR's top five crime and mystery novels of 2008), Pariah, and Killer.

About the Author:
David Zeltserman has over the years worked developing data communication software at some of the world's leading networking and computer companies, including Motorola, DEC, Nokia, Lucent and Cisco. He lives in the Boston area with his wife Judy, is a die-hard Patriots and Red Sox fan and when he’s not writing crime fiction, he spends his time working on his black belt in Kung Fu. His previous novels, Small Crimes(9781852429713), Pariah (9781846686436) and Killer (9781846686443) are also published by Serpent’s Tail.
From Booklist:
Dan’s job as a software engineer was outsourced more than 18 months ago. Since then, he has discovered that, at 48, he’s viewed as a fossil; he’s also losing his sight to retinitis pigmentosa. He’s envisioning destitution for his family, and desperate times call for, well, robbing the bank that hired him to design its security system but outsourced the code writing to India. Dan has friends, also programmers, in the same situation, and they agree to take part. His slick plan is to rob only the safe-deposit boxes held by a brutal Russian mobster and finger a notorious Italian mobster for the crime. But the heist goes wildly, lethally wrong. Two bank customers are shot; the Russian, a former KGB “interrogator,” goes medieval; and the software engineers are forced into something not part of their skill set: improvisation. Zeltserman has used criminals as protagonists to fine effect in the past (Pariah, 2009), but this time his characters are honest guys who only begin to act like criminals after the crime. A small gem of crime fiction. --Thomas Gaughan
