Drunk from the night's liberties and libations, drunk with exhilaration, elemental fire reeled. More flames joined the capering spinning circle as the last of the geysers died.
Faster and faster and faster!Until they had drawn together in a single leaping pyre. The roots around them deflated, laying flat and dead upon the sand which no longer churned from the battering rain; but curled under the broiling heat of flame. As the dance continued, the dry roots caught like kindling.
Pop, pop! Poof!The branches gave up the last of their water, withered and scorched, and finally detonated with the technicolor splendor of a wizard's best fireworks display.
