We followed her as she came to terms with boys, dating, and the love-triangles that sometimes cause rifts in friendship. In OZARK WOMAN, Charlene finishes high school and heads off to college. The culture of the 1960s, as it was lived in the Ozarks, comes alive through Charlene's eyes in this final book of the trilogy. The Kennedy assassination, the Vietnam war, the Beatles, the pill - they all had an impact on Charlene and the decisions that would affect the rest of her life.

About the Author:

Terry Piper is a writer and professional educator. Born in the Ozark hills of Missouri, her fiction reflects the place of her birth and the values and attitudes of the people she grew up with. In all other ways the Ozark Trilogy is a product of her imagination. She left the Ozarks after high school, attended the University of New Hampshire and taught High School English in coastal New Hampshire before leaving the country in 1974 to pursue a doctorate at a Canadian university. Although she intended to move back to the US afterward, she somehow forgot to leave and remained in Canada for 32 years. Dr. Piper has two grown sons, one who lives in Illinois and one who lives with his wife and two daughters in Ontario. A dual Canadian and US Citizen, Terry piper now lives in Miami, where she is a Dean at Barry University and was recently ordained an elder in the Miami Shores Presbyterian Church. She lives with a Balinese cat-previously misidentified as a Himalyan-who rules the household with a velvety, chocolate paw. OZARK WOMAN is her tenth book, third work of fiction, and the final volume in the Ozark Trilogy, although the author has not ruled out the possibility that Charlene might turn up again, possibly on JJ's arm?
