Gr 4-6-The answer to the series title question is evident by the end of each volume. In the case of Black Holes, the answer is "only in theory." In the Bermuda Triangle, a variety of natural explanations seem to offer the most reasonable solution. In Abominable Snowman, it's "not without a live or dead body of such a creature." These offerings discuss the same theories and anecdotal evidence often found in other books on the subjects and in less detail than some. It is their dynamic format that provides the greatest attraction. Sharp photographs, simple diagrams, whole pages printed on colored backgrounds or sporting whimsical designs like stylized "bigfoot" tracks or ship's anchors, plus captions in colored bubbles, make them as appealing to the eye as their content is to the mind. Although not essential purchases if other recent titles on these subjects are already in the collection, these books are desirable as basic introductions likely to draw in readers daunted by thicker and more staid-looking treatments.-Ann G.
