James Watson and Francis Crick takes a look at this most dynamic of scientific duos - the two men who unlocked the secret of all life. The book explores the childhood and early work of both scientists, how they came to
meet and work together in Cambridge, their fascinating exploration of genetics, and their race to crack the 'DNA code'.

How have some of the most successful scientific pairings in history changed the advancement of science and led to discoveries that might never otherwise have been made? Dynamic Duos explores the fascinating scientific partnerships between some of the world's leading scientists. From Darwin and Wallace to Einstein and Eddington, without these 'dynamic pairings' some of the most spectacular discoveries and critical theories in the history of science might never have been made. An informative series for children aged 9+.

About the Author:
Matt Anniss is an experienced journalist and book author who has written many non-fiction titles for children and young people. As well as writing books and articles for magazines and journals, Matt is also a professional DJ. He lives in Bristol.
From School Library Journal:
Gr 4-6-This series stands out for its attractive graphics and ability to make complex concepts accessible. The authors have done an excellent job of selecting key quotes from the scientists' writings that young readers can understand (provided in sidebars titled "In Their Own Words"). One might not assume that an elementary-school student would be able to appreciate figures such as Charles Darwin or Nikola Tesla, but this set makes it possible. Readers will get a real feel for these scientists and their voices. Sticky subjects such as creationism vs. evolution are handled in a sensitive, evenhanded way. Stunning photos illustrate concepts beautifully. For example, a photo of a duckbill platypus supports descriptions of evolution in the animal kingdom. The dual biography is a particularly ingenious feature. Readers learn that Alfred Russel Wallace and Darwin, rivals as well as supporters, shared much of the same information, making similar discoveries. Reading their parallel stories will let children see how different people solve the same problems. Original takes on science biographies.α(c) Copyright 2014.
