Double Wedding Ring Quilts: New Quilts from an Old Favorite - Softcover

When quilt makers are given a challenge, they usually surpass expectations. The challenge of the double wedding ring was well chosen in this case; the predictable grandma's attic design often made by brides before marriage has been turned here into something that would barely be recognizable to old-time quilters. Quilters around the world responded to the challenge in an annual contest sponsored by the museum of the American Quilter's Society in Paducah, Kentucky. Eighteen quilts were chosen as winners. Each winning design gets a full-color page, with artists commenting about the patterns and giving directions for construction, drafting, or enlarging.
