Between pages 102 and 103 there are six pages of black-and-white photography. Photographic paperback binding with gilt, red and white coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Quoting from the half title page, which is quoting The New York Times Book Review "Well written, scrupulously researched, exhaustively documented, this is the history of a legend . We have two fascinating stories here. First, a tale of research, of the events in the famous Berlin bunker where Hitler spent his last days . Second, we have the myth of Hitler's survival . McKale presents the evidence for us to draw our own conclusions, and he does it with lucidity." The book has been through the wars and is in not great shape  please see photograph. Creasing, multiple to the book corners with a large triangular crease to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel. There is a vertical crease that runs the full length of the front panel, closest to the back strip. Rubbing and some chipping of the book edges with rubbing of the book panels. Triangular crease to the lower left-hand corner of the rear panel. Reading crease to the back strip with uniform light tanning of the text block edges. The text block edges has been stained, which has impinged upon the last few and first few pages of the book and to the verso of the covers. Previous owners name to the top edge of the front panel  verso. First edition of the work in this format and binding, and/or set or series.
