Shipwrecks: Terror and Treasure (First Book)

Grade 3-5-- Three shipwrecks--the Mary Rose, the Concepci on, and the Titanic --are briefly examined. Humphrey discusses each vessel's function and usage in its historical context and the events that led to its sinking. She then describes the discovery and exploration of each wreck in modern times. Above-average quality, full-color photographs (many are underwater shots) and reproductions augment the text.
