HISHAM MATAR was born in New York City to Libyan parents and spent his childhood in Tripoli and Cairo. His first novel, In the Country of Men, won six international literary awards and has been translated into twenty-eight languages. His second novel, Anatomy of a Disappearance, was named one of the best books of the year by The Guardian and the Chicago Tribune. Hisham Matar lives in London and in New York City, where he teaches at Barnard. The author lives in London / New York, NY.
