New Worlds: In Search of the Planets - Softcover

Two British science writers present a summary of our present knowledge of the major bodies of the solar system, excluding the Sun itself. The planets, plus the Earth's moon, are treated in individual chapters, and asteroids and comets are handled collectively in another chapter. There is also a brief section on planetary observing. The text is at a very basic level; current scientific information is well managed, but the early history section is brief and not entirely accurate. Several dozen color photographs, many provided by NASA, enliven the work. Some material is as recent as early 1986. Recommended chiefly for high school and public libraries. Jack W.
