About the Author:
Stephen Reid is Composition Program Director at Colorado State University where he is responsible both for the curriculum and for training the many graduate teaching assistants. Based on his experiences with students and beginning instructors alike, Reid authored The Prentice Hall Guide for College Writers. Since its first publication in 1989, this writing guide has stood out in the market because each chapter centers on a specific writing purpose and integrates techniques, writing process, and patterns of development within the context of the chapter. This innovative organization ends flipping back and forth within the text. Complemented by an annotated instructor’s edition, The Prentice Hall Guide for College Writers is the perfect writing guide for learning–and learning to teach–purpose and process.
Stephen Reid is currently the Writing Program Administrator at Colorado State University, where he has taught for over 30 years. He regularly teaches both undergraduate and graduate courses in writing, and he continues to teach contemporary fiction, 19th century British fiction, and non-fiction workshops. Current interests in composition include argument, visual literacy, teaching in online environments, testing and placement, and curriculum design.
